Adobe has released its PDF reader application, Adobe Reader, for iOS today. If you don’t like reading your PDFs in iBooks (why wouldn’t you?), you now have the choice of using Adobe’s official Reader application for iOS. The software bundle is a universal application, meaning it’s available for both the iPhone (and iPod touch) and iPad, and it’s also free.
According to the App Store, the application not only opens PDF files for viewing, but also works with encrypted PDF files, including password-protected files and Adobe LiveCycle Rights Management, and it supports up to AES 256 encryption. The app also supports AirPrint, Apple’s wireless printing technology for iOS, and sharing PDFs between applications in addition to emailing PDF documents.
Long story short, Adobe Reader is the reader application that we grew to love in our browers, but primed for iOS. We can’t really complain about that, can we?
