Lion gets an update to 10.7.1

Apple has been kind enough to release the big 10.7.1 update to the masses today. If you’ve been having problems with Lion, and given the comments we know many of you are, you should go update your operating system.

But, if you want to update Lion, don’t head to the Mac App Store, because the update isn’t there. Nope, unlike every other application you purchase from the Mac App Store, the update to Lion can be found in Software Update, just like the days you rocked Snow Leopard.

We’re not sure about the logic behind the move, but it seems like operating system updates may continue to be a Software Update experience.

We’ll poke around and see if anything has changed. Until then you can check out the update notes here. Don’t expect too many changes though — the update weighs in at 17.4 MB.
