Report shows white iPhone 4 has more than just a new coat of paint

Japanese Apple blog MacOtakara has taken apart a white iPhone and discovered that Apple has made a few slight modifications to its internals.

The photo above shows a revamped camera. The new part has the same sensor, but is reworked for light collection. This lines up with rumors that pegged camera issues as one reason the white iPhone was delayed.

The site has also revealed a re-worked proximity sensor as well. The front panel on the white iPhone has a more pronounced opening for the proximity sensor, but Apple hasn’t provided details on what it had to change.
