Apple inks deal with Time Inc. for iPad content

It seems like Apple’s still not satisfied with some of the news publishers that have applications on the App Store. According to the Wall Street Journal, Apple has finally convinced Time Inc. to change their ways.

Time Inc. is expect to bring free iPad subscriptions to all of their traditional print subscribers. That would mean if you are already paying for Sports Illustrated, Time, Fortune, or People magazine, you should now be able to access the iPad applications for free.

It’s another major step forward for Apple, but we have to take a moment and wonder just how much it matters. How many of you actually read digital magazines on the iPad? Personally, I keep downloading magazines, looking at the pictures and interactive features, and moving on. Rarely do I read from “cover to cover” on the iPad.
