The Wall Street Journal and Billboard think The Beatles will be on iTunes tomorrow

It’s been years and years and years in the making. Could tomorrow’s event mark the culmination of a long battle to get The Beatles into the iTunes store?

Can I please be the first to say that I hope it does? I’d really like to stop talking about The Beatles coming to iTunes every single time there’s a sneak event planned by Apple. I’m not alone, right?

While Twitter has been atweet with speculation about the Beatles due to some similarities between the Help! album cover and the clocks in Apple’s announcement, The Wall Street Journal and Billboard magazine have both independently confirmed that it’s going to happen tomorrow. The Beatles will be in iTunes. They’ve both confirmed the rumors with “people familiar with the situation.”

The Wall Street Journal has said “Steve Jobs is nearing the end of his long and winding pursuit of the Beatles catalog. Apple Inc. is preparing to announce that its iTunes Store will soon start carrying music by the Beatles, according to people familiar with the situation, a move that would fill in a glaring gap in the collection of the world’s largest music retailer.”

I can’t Help! but be happy. If true, I’ll never again have to hear another rumor about a yellow submarine iPod edition.

If this is the only news that gets announced tomorrow, it’s going to be pretty forgettable. Anyone who wants The Beatles on their iPod likely has it already.
