iPad gets Ping

Apple has added its Ping service to the iPad’s iTunes Store application. The iPhone gained Ping capabilities with the release of iOS 4.1.

The mobile version includes all the features of the desktop version, including updates from friends, concert information and profile editing.

To activate Ping, open the service with iTunes on a Mac or PC and sign-in. Once your account is setup, Ping on iPad is tied to Twitter automatically, meaning there’s no setup required on the iPad itself.

As with previous iTunes and App Store updates, this change was made on the backend by Apple, meaning no interaction is necessary to use these new features.

Happy pinging.
