    Reposado: An alternative software update server

    Ballmer proclaims Skype for all
    In one of the largest purchases that the Microsoft has made, Skype was recently purchased for $8.5 billion. Many have speculated that with this purchase, Microsoft will kill the Mac OS X and Linux Clients. Microsoft's CEO Steve Ballmer has allayed the fear that non-Microsoft platforms will no longer receive Skype updates.     Quick Tip: Enable TRIM support in OS X
    TRIM support is vital for Macs with SSDs installed, as it can greatly increase the longevity of the drive. SSDs naturally don't handle garbage files very well.     Apple reveals new info about OS X Lion, launches Developer Preview
    In addition to that new mountain wallpaper, Apple has posted a good bit of info on its upcoming upgrade to Mac OS X: Versions OS X Lion will automatically save a copy of a document each time it is opened, and automatically, every hour.     Apple Releases QuickTime 7.6.9
    Late today, Apple released an update to QuickTime 7. The update includes a laundry list of bug fixes. Not to be confused with Snow Leopard's QuickTime X, QT7 runs on both OS X 10.5 Leopard and 10.6 Snow Leopard,  and offers support for older media formats and advanced exporting options. The update is available from Apple's website or via Software Update.
