    It looks like the next-generation iPad might not be launching alongside its mini counterpart. According to a new report from DigiTimes, the next major update for the full-sized iPad will be released several months ahead of a new iPad mini. DigiTimes claims that volume production of the next-generation iPad will start in July-August with an estimated five million shipments in the third quarter. The next-generation iPad mini, on the other hand, will see its volume production postponed from September to November.     Back Panel With Curved Design, Lightning Port Could Be Apple's Low-Cost iPhone

    A couple of new images have surfaced online today that show a plastic back panel with a Lightning connector, which could very well be the back panel of Apple's rumored low-cost iPhone. The images, found on Chinese microblogging site Sina Weibo, appeared on Apple.pro. The back panel is thicker than the iPhone 5 with a curved back design similar to the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS designs. The panel looks like it's plastic.     AirDrop was first introduced for OS X Lion in 2011, which makes sharing files between Macs easy. Now it looks like AirDrop might be making its way to iOS.     With the season of new Apple devices fast approaching, we're starting to see actual(?) images of next-generation devices. Today's image of the day is an alleged front panel of the iPad 5 featuring an iPad mini design with bezels.     Gamers will be happy to hear that a working Mirror's Edge 2 help forum page appearing on EA's official website today. The page has since been taken down, but I think it's safe to assume that Mirror's Edge 2 might be making an appearance at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3).     We heard rumors that the next-generation iPad will look a little more iPad mini-esque with thinner side bezels. A new video circling the web today (which was live and then mysteriously went private) shows a case reportedly designed for Apple's iPad 5 that takes into account the thinner bezels, but also suggests the next iPad's height will also be slightly reduced.     Apple may be shifting some of its production away from Foxconn to Pegatron, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal. Apple has relied heavily on Foxconn in the past to produce many of its devices, including iPhones and iPads.
