    Video Messaging Update Comes To Skype

    While a beta version of the new feature has been around since February, today marks the day that all Skype users can take advantage of Skype's video messaging service. The feature lets users send up to three minute videos to anyone on their contacts list, even if that user is offline. The new update is available on both the desktop version of Skype as well as iOS and other mobile platforms.     Steve Jobs Biography Paperback Due September 10

    The official Steve Jobs biography by Walter Isaacson will be released on paperback on September 10, 2013. This news has come out of Simon & Schuster, the book's publisher. Though this paperback will be mostly the same as the readily available hardcover and eBook, the publisher has stated that the book will be given an afterword that was not included with previous versions. As of now, the price of the book is still unknown, though we're expecting it to be cheaper than that of the hardcover.     With the Facebook event just around the corner, people have been speculating about what "big ideas" the company is planning to announce.     Netflix Signs DreamWorks For Original TV Series, Over 300 Hours Of New Programming

    Netflix has signed a new deal with DreamWorks, which just so happens to be the biggest deal for original content in Netflix history. In a recent press release, Netflix announced a multi-year deal with DreamWorks Animation that will give members in the U.S., Canada, Latin America, and Europe exclusive access to new original TV series based on some of the studio's most loved franchises and characters. DreamWorks, whose global hits include Shrek, Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda, and How to Train Your Dragon, promises over 300 hours of new programming.     Apple Releases Official Statement About Its "Commitment To Customer Privacy"

    In light of the recent PRISM scandal, Apple has decided to speak up and reaffirm its commitment to customer privacy by releasing an official statement on its website. Apple also repeated that it first heard of the government's PRISM program when the media asked about it on June 6. Apple went on to explain just how it handles government requests for customer content. Apple explained that it "does not provide any government agency with direct access to our servers, and any government agency requesting customer content must get a court order."     Yesterday was a big day for iPhone and iPad users in Canada. Rogers Wireless and Telus announced that they will both begin selling the LTE-enabled iPad and iPad mini within the "coming weeks." On the iPhone side of things, yesterday Wind Mobile started to sell iPhone 5-compatible Nano SIM cards. Though Canadian iPad users were long able to purchase data plans for their tablets, the iPad has never been available for purchase at their local phone shop.
