Whew, what a week. WWDC came and went, here’s our wrap up post of all the news. Like every year we also got Apple’s App shopping list with their design awards. The ebook trial was in full swing with both sides coming out swinging. Though you would think the rumor mill would satiated by the WWDC news, rumors reemerged about the possibility of a giant iPhone. If you're iTunes is a constant mess, full of duplicate songs and a ton of unnamed tracks, then check out this deal. Expect the rumor mill to swing into high gear over the next month. WWDC was announced one day, and sold out in two minutes the next. It was confirmed that we would see new versions of both Apple operating systems. Apple added a page to iTunes celebrating the service's tenth anniversary. The App Store got a less celebratory page, having added an explanation of in app purchases, and available parental controls. Though April Fool's day meant that a whole day of news was consumed with Google's annual series of pranks, as well as out and out fictions by different news sites, it was actually a pretty big week of news. To start, there were a couple of rumors of Apple delays, the first being from “reliable sources” that iOS 7 is behind schedule, and engineers are being pulled that may cause delays for the next version of Mac OS X. There was some actual Apple news this week when Apple acquired WifISlam, an indoor mapping company. T-Mobile made waves when they announced the end of contracts and that they would be selling the iPhone. Final Cut Pro X got some updates, along with an updated marketing plan. I think that the Apple world is starting to get a bit loopy from the lack of announcements lately. It seems that Apple’s PR department is getting just stir crazy when they launched a campaign to remind us how awesome the iPhone 5 already is. The DOD had announced that they were buying a little more than half a million iDevices. By far the most intriguing story of the week was when GarageBand was upgraded to support Audiobus, an API that supports inter-app communication. Since this week is likely to end in a blur of short-term memory loss fueled by green beer and nitrate laced meat, you may want to put this in your read later client of choice for Monday morning.
