    Apple Adds RAW File Support For 13 New Cameras

    In a new software update, Apple has added support for RAW file support for thirteen more cameras. According to Apple's support page, "Digital camera RAW formats retain more image information than JPEGs and can produce better results when used with imaging applications such as Aperture and iPhoto." The update is available for Macs running OS X Mountain Lion.     Apple Cuts 13" Macbook Pro To $999 With Education Discount

    If the biggest thing deterring you from getting a Macbook is its price, you might now be interested in getting a Macbook Pro. Apple has dropped the price of the low-end 13" pro to $999 for customers using the educational discount, making it the only Macbook Pro to be cheaper than a grand. The model does not include retina display, but has a 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5 Processor, 4GB of RAM and and a 500GB hard drive.     Evernote, the popular note-saving app, announced the launch of its new security and privacy features, including two-step verification, access history, and authorized applications. Evernote announced the features this morning on their company blog. Two-Step Verification Designed to protect your account even if someone learns your password, the two-step verification feature will require a verification code anytime you're asked for your username and password, which is usually when you log into Evernote Web or install it on a new device.     If you've never used it before, ReadKit is an Instapaper, Pocket, and Readability client for the Mac. It also has support for bookmarking sites like Delicious and Pinboard. Today ReadKit has been updated to version 2.0, bringing a number of new features, including support for Fever and NewsBlur, new smart folders and other improvements and enhancements.     Rdio, the subscription-based music streaming service, has rolled out a new update for its Mac app version. If you also use Rdio on your iPhone or iPad, then you already know the kinds of changes you'll see when you get the updated version of Rdio on your computer, which features big album art and an "upcoming view."     Instacast Now Available For Your Mac

    You've probably used the iPad and iPhone applications to listen, or in my case watch, your favorite podcasts. Vemedio, the company behind Instacast, has just pushed its Mac application live on its website. The $14.99 (soon to be $19.99) application will be looking to clean up in the OS X podcast app category. It'll be a large mountain to climb considering iTunes has a large podcast repository and has media playback capabilities. Oh, and it's free.     Macbooks Could Get 50% Better Battery With Intel's Upcoming Haswell Chips

    It's almost that time again when Intel will release its new lineup of processors, which seems to happen on a two-year cycle. Apple is always one of the first, if not the first, company to have the new processors inside its computers, so with Haswell processor expected to debut in a few weeks, it makes sense that we'll also be seeing some new Macbooks with Haswell announced soon.
