I am really enjoying Mac OS X Lion. I have upgraded all four of my Macs to Lion, and everything looks to be working well. There are a few hiccups here and there, but overall I am able to fix them or get around them. One thing I found, though, is not so much a glitch as a missing feature. That missing feature is no other than AirDrop. Apparently, when it comes to AirDrop, no two Macs are alike.

Will iCloud spell certain doom for NAND flash?
July 20, 2011
With iCloud right around the corner many believe that NAND flash sales will dip in the near future. The reason being is that they see consumers demanding less storage for their iOS devices as well as their Mac and Windows computers. Those MacBook Airs with 64GB or 128GB of storage will start to look more appealing. Since Apple makes up 28.3 percent of the Market for NAND flash purchases, you can see why some might be worried. But fret not. One thing that might help NAND flash is bandwidth restrictions. I will delve more into that in just a bit.
With the introduction of iCloud you will be able to listen to your music wherever you are. No longer will you be restricted by your iOS’s limited storage. Right now I have to chose what I can and cannot put on my iOS devices due to the limited storage. So this is a great idea to have your music in the Cloud and accessible to you wherever you are. Well, in a perfect world this would be true.
Test RAM on your Mac without a RAM tester
July 15, 2011

Have you ever had your Mac not boot properly? Or, maybe you’re not sure if the new memory you bought is on the up and up. Before you would have to test your memory on a RAM tester, or if you’re experiencing issues you would have to take out the new memory and replace it with the original. Well, with Rember you can test your existing RAM and verify if your memory is good, or if it is going bad.
Has the rumor mill lost its collective minds? 3D iPhone screens?
July 12, 2011
The rumor mill has apparently lost its collective minds with this latest rumor. Now take this with a fairly large grain of salt. Apparently Apple is going to introduce a 3D iPhone 5. That’s right, a 3D iPhone, complete “…with a 3D screen as well as a double objective on the back to take photographs in stereoscopic mode.” The question that begs to be answered is: why on earth would you want a 3D iPhone? Is it because it’s the latest fad in video entertainment? Or, has the rumor mill simply run out of things to talk about? I would say it’s a little bit of both.
Apple testing new ways to wirelessly charge your iOS devices
July 12, 2011
Apple wasn’t playing around when they said that they want to cut the cord on your iOS devices. Apparently Apple is testing new ways to charge their devices without cables. You might be thinking to yourself that this is nothing new; there are plenty of products out there that already do this through induction. Prime examples are electric toothbrushes. There are also third party devices out today that you can attach to your iOS device to charge it wirelessly. Unfortunately they make your iPhone look bulky, and forget about trying to put a case on it.
Two new Apple commercials for your iOS devices
July 11, 2011
Apple has two new commercials out showing off FaceTime and AirPlay. These are two well known features which I personally use. I love the interoperability of FaceTime between Apple’s devices such as my iPhone to another Mac, or even using my iPhone to talk to my kids on their iPod touches.

Apple buys iCloud.com for $4.5 million
April 28, 2011
Apple bought me.com just before relaunching .Mac as MobileMe, and it appears that Apple is at it again. 9to5Mac is reporting that Apple has purchased the domain iCloud.com for $4.5 million from Xcerion. What does this mean for the cloud music locker that is rumored to be in development? Well, it looks like it will be named iCloud, and the rumors might just turn to fact.
Moreover, does this mean that MobileMe is going away? I don’t think so. I believe that iCloud will be added to MobileMe. You’ll have your mobile syncing service, and then you will have your music locker accessible from iCloud.com. As for cost for either service, it’s anyone’s guess at this point. It’s rumored that Apple will charge $20.00 a year for the music locker, but where does that leave MobileMe in pricing? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. I feel that Apple will announce the new domain and pricing at WWDC.
