New Apple Repair Program Addresses 2011-2013 MacBook Pro Video Problems

Do you have a MacBook Pro purchased from 2011 through 2013 that exhibits video problems? If so, you may be able to get your computer repaired for free under a new Apple repair extension program.

The program applies to 15- and 17-inch MacBook Pros made in 2011, and 15-inch Retina models dating between mid-2012 and early 2013. According to Apple, the affected machines will display “distorted or scrambled video on the computer screen,” restart unexpectedly, or show no video onscreen at all.

If you have one of the affected models and have experienced these issues, Apple recommends that you either bring your Mac into your nearest Apple Store or authorized service provider, or call Apple directly.

The program begins Friday, February 20th in the US and Canada—and February 27th elsewhere in the world. See Apple’s support site for the full details.
