Apple Announces Tribute Selection Process For WWDC 2014

It’s that time of year again, and hopefully this time around you get more than 2 minutes to make a purchase once tickets go on sale. Just kidding, you do. Apple has announced that WWDC 2014 will take place from June 2-6. Tickets go on “sale” today.

The best part about the whole announcement is that Apple’s done away with the ‘first come, first serve’ approach and has instead adopted a lottery system for tickets to the event.

If you’re interested in tickets you have until April 14, at 5:00 pm PDT to sign up for the lottery. If you should be selected, you “will have the opportunity to purchase a WWDC ticket for 1599 USD”. Tickets can’t be resold, bartered, auctioned, or transferred in any way.

To qualify you must have an active developer account, and be enrolled in either the iOS developer, or Mac developer programs. Kids under the age of 18 must have their submission completed by an adult.

Apple will also donate 200 “scholarship” programs to eligible students at random.

Let the hunger games, err, WWDC mayhem begin.
