This Macintosh Portable From 1989 Gets An OS X Update

The last thing this beauty could run was System 7, until Mr. Patrick Blampied got his hands on it. The Ultimate Hipster managed to remap all the keys, swap out the battery with a cordless drill battery, and then slammed the innards of an old Toshiba NB 100 into the Macintosh Portable.

That makes this thing a Hackinstosh, but who the hell cares. It’s amazing. I want one. If you’re thinking about making one of these things though, you may want to take a moment and look at what it takes to get a keyboard wired correctly.

The hack isn’t for the faint of heart, and you’re gonna need a lot of patience to get it done. Blampied does a really good job of giving a step-by-step walk through across several blog posts. I recommend heading over there and checking out his work.
