Canada, UK, Australia To Also Get Apple’s Charger Trade-in Program

Following the news of a couple bad incidents involving 3rd party chargers, Apple announced earlier this month that it would be launching a “USB Power Takeback Program“, a move to try and get more customers to use Apple’s trusted and official USB charger. While previously only confirmed for the U.S. and China, a new support page on Apple’s website now reveals that the program will also be coming to Canada, the UK, and Australia.

The program begins this Friday, August 16th, and runs all the way until October 18th. It allows for anyone to bring in a charger that they find to be suspicious or crummy and to exchange it for an official Apple charger for just $10. This gives people a 50% price cut off the usual $20 price and also has their old charger properly recycled. Those interested must simply bring in an applicable Apple product to prove that they own one, with a limit of one charger per device.

Those in the U.S., Canada, UK, Australia and China can visit an Apple store this Friday to take advantage of the offer.
