Domino’s Japan’s iPhone App And Ad Is Cheesier Than Its Pizza

Domino’s Pizza in Japan recently released a new iPhone app and accompanying ad to tell people about how awesome they are at making pizza. The ad features Scott Oellkers, the president of Domino’s Japan, who enthusiastically tells you all about what the app can do.

The ad starts with Oellkers introducing himself and Hatsune Miku, a popular anime character that helps sell music software. He then whips his iPhone out of his jacket and smiles somewhat creepily at the camera.

When you take off a few layers of cheese from the ad, the app itself actually offers some interesting, albeit strange, features. Not only can you order pizza from the app, but “from the menu to the order, it looks very cute, just like Miku.” On top of that, when your pizza is delivered you can have some fun with Miku. The app has a social camera function so you can take pictures with Miku and point your iPhone at the pizza box to turn it into a live dance stage for Miku to perform on. Yes, seriously.

If nothing else, the ad is ridiculously entertaining to watch. Make sure to check it out above.
