MacBook Pro with Retina display users (including myself) have been awaiting the release of the Twelve South BookBook case for quite some time now. Luckily for us, the wait is over as Twelve South has just announced that they’re bringing the vintage-styled case to the 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display. The case is available now via Twelve South’s online store for $79.99.
If you’re unaware, the BookBook is a case for the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro with Retina display that looks identical to a vintage book. You can use your MacBook inside of the case when it’s open and to protect and disguise your Mac when on-the-go. The case is very light, adding a mere 22 ounces of weight to the MacBook Pro with Retina display.
TwelveSouth also makes the BookBook for the iPad, iPad mini and iPhone. The iPhone BookBook doubles as a wallet while the iPad BookBook looks almost identical to the MacBook case. I personally owned a BookBook for my iPhone 4S and used it daily for months at a time. The case featured stellar design and build quality, so I’d definitely recommend it.
Note: The BookBook for the 13-inch MacBook Air is also compatible with the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display.Follow @macgasm
