Just had this sent to me by my brother. I laughed. Man, Apple makes some awesome commercials. Also, I hope these things aren’t in landfills. If you’re thinking about throwing one out, the terrorists win.

Here is a smartphone with an interesting, but old-tech kind of feature: NEC has just announced the Medias X 06E, an Android device that is the world’s first smartphone with a water-cooled CPU. Oh, and its also targeted towards women. The goal of a water-cooled CPU is to keep heat away from the CPU so it can run at a higher speeds without overheating. Running at an optimal temperature is important for any device, though your typical gadget today does not need nearly as much cooling as a PC from the early 2000s. What makes this a phone for women?
Apple has just announced that the App Store has hit 50 billion application downloads, ending the $10,000 iTunes gift card giveaway promo. This promotion was announced on May 2nd and was set to end whenever the App Store hit the 50 billion download mark. The person who downloaded the 50 billionth app will receive a $10,000 gift card, while 50 others will receive $500 gift certificates. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Apple run promotions for its milestone download numbers. The company celebrated in a similar way for its 25 billionth app download which took place just 14 months
If you’re looking to add blank spaces to your iOS home screen, instead of having all the applications lineup one after another, a newly found bug in iOS has made it possible. Put your apps in this order in the bottom row of an iOS page: App, Group with two apps in it, app, app. Move an app out of the folder, and onto the last app in the row to create a new folder. If you’re a big fan of Google, today is basically your Superbowl. Google held its annual Google I/O event today, and with it came a number of big announcements from the tech giant. Starting off with a hardware announcement, Google unveiled its next Nexus phone, which turns out to actually just be a rebranded Samsung Galaxy S4. The device will feature the same hardware as the recently releases Galaxy S4, however, in typical Nexus fashion, the OS will run a stock Android experience. If you’re like us, and just finished watching the epic-length fireside at Google IO where Larry Page waxed philosophical about interoperability and not always being about the money, this next bit of news may have you scratching your head. According to The Verge, Google has demanded that Microsoft remove its YouTube application from Windows Phone because it doesn’t show advertisements: Google’s complaint centers on the lack of ads in Microsoft’s YouTube app, something it claims is a direct violation of the terms and conditions of the company’s YouTube API.
