Temple Run 2 Cleans Up In The App Store, Sees Huge Download Boom

Most developers would be happy with a couple hundred thousand downloads over the life of their app. For Imangi Studios, the expectations are a little bit different considering the original Temple Run has been downloaded over 170 million times already. Temple Run 2 has some ginormous shoes to fill, and frankly, there was a lot of expectations about what the game would do over the course of the first week.

In its first four days on the App Store, Imangi Studios’ Temple Run 2 has already been downloaded over 20 million times. Plenty of applications have had success in their first week, but when you consider that Google Maps was downloaded 10 million times in 48 hours, and Angry Birds Space hit the 10 million download mark in just 72 hours, Temple Run 2’s run is looking mighty impressive.

Clearly, Imangi Studios is killing it.  The game sits at the top of the free app listing on the App Store and in the seventh spot (Canadian store) in the top grossing apps section. It’s pretty clear people are buying up a ton of in-game purchases.

You can download the game on the App Store for free.
