This Lock Screen Concept Needs To Happen In iOS 7

I’m not sure what happened this month, but it seems like iOS design concepts are exploding, and the quality and potential we’re seeing is fantastic. There’s been a lot of words dedicated to the iOS lock screen, and most seem to agree that the 5 year old design needs a refresh in some capacity. Additionally, a lot of people have been calling for toggles on the lock screen. Toggles to turn off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and other system preferences. It seems un-Apple to provide these things at first glance, but the more concepts we see with this kind of behavior, the more it seems like something some of us could use.

This lock screen drawer prototype from Jean-Marc Denis takes a moment to reinvent and refresh the idea of toggles on the lock screen. It’s Android-esque, but it’s time we get some more flexibility, and this would be a great place to start. Dear Apple, let’s reinvent the lock screen. There’s just way too much wasted space happening right now.
