ReadKit Update Brings Built-In RSS, Smart Folders, Notifications Center Integration, More

If you’ve never used it before, ReadKit is an Instapaper, Pocket, and Readability client for the Mac. It also has support for bookmarking sites like Delicious and Pinboard. Today ReadKit has been updated to version 2.0, bringing a number of new features, including support for Fever and NewsBlur, new smart folders and other improvements and enhancements.

ReadKit 2.0 adds support for RSS services like Fever, NewsBlur and built-in RSS capabilities. The app’s new smart folders come with live updates, and bring articles up based on a set of criteria. For example, you can search with key words of something you’re looking for. On top of that, ReadKit now also has notification center integration.

ReadKit 2.0 brings a number of preferences options as well, including:

  • Preference to save and restore reading positions
  • Preference to cache images locally for all read later services
  • Preference to confirm deletion of bookmarks

There are also a number of sync performance improvements and other bug fixes.

ReadKit can be updated to version 2.0 from the Mac App Store for free if you already have the app. If you’re new to ReadKit you can download it for $4.99.
