Tip: Leave Google Apps Behind, Use Outlook.com To Host Your Email

Tip: Leave Google Apps Behind, Use Outlook.com To Host Your EmailLast week we published an article about Google closing its free email hosting service for businesses. Google plans to continue access for those already connected with their Google Apps platform, but if you’re new, you’ll have to pay a pretty steep fee to get connected. Microsoft, on the other hand, has taken a different approach, and the company lets you host your own email with custom domain addresses in Outlook.

If you find yourself wanting to host up to 500 email accounts on your own domain, you’re going to want to go to Digital Inspiration and follow the tutorial on configuring Outlook.com to host email on your own web domain. It’s pretty simple. If you’ve set up Google Apps at any point, or any mail server for that matter, the tutorial is pretty straightforward.

We’re thinking about switching too.
