Booz & Co. Names Apple The Most Innovative Company Of 2012

The analytics group Booz & Co. is known for its yearly “most innovative” company list. After running this year’s survey, Booze & Co. has named Apple the most innovative company of the year. Again. In fact, this is the third year in a row that Apple has been given the title. Not surprisingly, Google and Samsung also made the list, taking second and fourth place respectively. Apple was ranked the most innovative company of the year by over 80 percent of the people who participated in the survey.

Booz & Co. said the following on Apple:

This year, Apple didn’t just top the rankings (as it did the past two years); it increased its lead substantially. The company — which in August 2012 became the most valuable in history, measured by market capitalization — was named by almost 80 percent of respondents as one of the three most innovative companies in the world, up from 70 percent last year.

Other interesting statistics include the fact that Apple only spends 2.2 percent of their sales on product research and development (R&D). Apple has doubled its R&D spending over the past three years. The full chart is above if you want to take a look at the top ten companies.
