Belkin Is The First Apple Partner To Announce Lightning-Enabled Accessories

When Apple first revealed the new Lightning connector, people started wondering if they would need to upgrade all of their accessories or use one of Apple’s adapters. Apple is expected to hold an accessory partner seminar within a few days, but accessory-maker Belkin has already announced new Lightning-enabled accessories for Apple products.

Belkin launched its new hardwired car charger and ‘Charge + Sync’ dock today and has also promised to release even more Lightning accessories, a number of which are expected later this year.

The hardwired car charger is an updated version of its already existing charging accessory. It has a 4-foot Lightning cable and gives 10 watts/2.1 amps with over-voltage protections. It sells for $29.99 and is compatible with the iPad mini, iPhone 5, seventh generation iPod nano, fifth generation iPod touch and fourth generation iPad.

The Charge + Sync dock has a foldaway AUX jack, a cable channel to hold the cable, a removable magnetic base and an audio-out port for headphones or speakers. It also goes for $29.99 but only works with the iPhone 5.

Pre-orders for the two new accessories have begun today and will be available to the public sometime in mid-November.
