New Photos Of iPhone 5 Parts Reveal NFC Chip?

In just over two weeks Apple is expected to hold an event that will officially unveil the next generation iPhone, perhaps the most highly anticipated iPhone in Apple’s history. There have been tons of rumors and supposed image leaks of various iPhone 5 parts. The latest images of the iPhone 5 to surface reveal a potential NFC radio for the first time.

The photos first appeared on Chinese site, Apple.pro, and show a fully-assembled front assembly from an alleged iPhone 5. A Japanese Apple blog, MacOtakara, notes that more parts are present in the images, including a square component that hasn’t been seen in Apple devices before and is speculated to be the handset’s NFC radio.

According to the rumor mill, the NFC capabilities that are expected in the next iPhone could tie in with Apple’s Passbook app in iOS 6 to create an end-to-end mobile wallet solution.

Like always, much of this is just speculation and rumors. Assuming at least the rumored September 12 event is really happening, then we only have a few more weeks to wait to know which features will really be included in the next-generation iPhone.
