Apple Announces Summer Filmmaking Camp For Kids

Think your kid could be the next Spielberg or Kubrick? Why not enroll them in one of Apple’s upcoming, free summer filmmaking camps for kids? Apple just announced that there will be free summer camps at its retails stores for kids aged 8 to 12. The camp will include two 90-minute weekday workshops where students will be introduced to filmmaking and tools like iMovie.

From Apple:

At Apple Camp, kids ages 8-12 learn how to shoot their own footage, create an original song in GarageBand on an iPad, and put it all together in iMovie on a Mac. This free workshop, held at Apple Retail Stores, spans three days and ends with campers debuting their masterpieces at the Apple Camp Film Festival. Space is limited and workshops fill up quickly, so sign up now for a super-creative adventure.

The first session begins on July 23 and ends some time at the end of August. If you live in the U.S. or Canada, you can sign your kids up immediately. Other countries will be added shortly to the signup page.
