Phil Schiller took the stage at WWDC to describe the changes to the MacBook Air. These notebooks will be sporting new CPUs, which will be Ivy Bridge going up to 2GHz dual core with Intel turbo boosting up to 3GHz. The new Airs will come with up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 512GB of flash storage. The hard drives will be faster than any other that can be put in a notebook. A USB 3 port will be added, which is up to 10 times faster than USB 2. However, disappointing to some, the new MacBook Air will not feature a Retina display. Prices are $999 and $1099 for the 11-inch, which are reduced price points compared to the previous generation Air. And if you’re dying to get your hands on these new beauties, you don’t have long to wait since the new MacBook Air starts shipping today.
