In a move to gain more feedback, Apple is expanding its user base of the the OS X Mavericks beta to Apple Store employees that work the floor, and those that are behind the Genius Bar. This is the message that the employees received from the corporate types: You are invited to participate in the pre-release OS X Mavericks seed program. Participation, including submitting feedback, is completely voluntary and not an expectation of your job. If you accept, we will provide you with a pre-release version of OS X Mavericks to install and use. You will get to preview all…
If you’ve been debating on whether or not you should take the glitchy plunge that is the iOS 7 beta (check our review here), or whether you’re just curious as to how exactly the new OS looks, this new interactive demo from Recombu might help you. The site has created a demo for users to get a glimpse of what iOS 7 would look like on their phone. It lets you click on different apps to see how they’ve been updated and it gives you a good idea of what changes have been made to the UI. While it doesn’t…
Technology is a funny thing. Despite the traditional geek following, the world of tech has developed a tribal nature much like the testosterone-fuelled domain of team sports. Ironically, many of the customs and idiosyncrasies of team sports seem to have seeped into the tech world as well. These tribes, and the fanbois that populate them, have been evolving since the early days of Mac vs. IBM and Nintendo vs. Sega, but it seems that some tribes are more partisan than others. You would think the geeks and nerds scarred from locker room towel snappings and flashbacks of having to climb…
If you’ve been waiting to use FaceTime over cellular on AT&T, first of all, that sucks dude, you’ve been waiting like 2 and a half years! Second of all, you finally can! AT&T has begun to roll out the feature to all of its customers, with users in a number of states from California to New York having reported that they can now use the feature through their phones’ data plans. AT&T announced back in May that it would be rolling out the feature to all of its customers in mid-June and it seems like the company has delivered on…

For years, we were told iOS was “stale” and “boring” when compared to the futuristic and convoluted feature-rich Android interface. Green felt was bad and “flat” was the future. Well, we got a “flat” user interface in iOS 7, with translucent menus, better typography, and a much crisper, cleaner look.…
I love iPhone cases, but one of the hardest parts of picking a new case is finding the right color. However, with the Case Mate Colorways case ($40.00), that’s a non-issue because of the case’s three piece, modular form. All three of these pieces snap together to make a beautiful…
Booq has recently released its first iPhone case and has named it the ‘Fibre Snapcase’. The company has chosen to focus in on style and grip with this new case. Attention to both of these aspects can be seen throughout the case’s design due to its grippy and rubberized sides…
Apple introduced a lot of new stuff for iOS 7, including a nifty auto app update option so that all of your apps will automatically update themselves when it’s time, but it looks like this feature isn’t exclusive to just iOS. OS X Mavericks, Apple’s newest operating system for the…
There are very few iPhone users who haven’t used their phone as a GPS device at least once. Most of the popular GPS apps collect the history of your trips, which may be problematic for some users. Say you picked up a surprise gift for your significant other, and the…
Last year, Orbotix unveiled the innovative iPhone/Android controlled robot ball. It was not only meant for children; it was meant for people of all ages. Anyone could have fun with it. The opaque ball, slightly larger than the average tennis ball, is made of a durable poly-carbonate shell. The Sphero…
