Aaron Sorkin Officially Adapting “Steve Jobs” Biography For Sony Pictures

If you’re worried that Kutcher and company are going to botch their indepented film, fear not, the big boys over at Sony Pictures have just officially hired Aaron Sorkin to adapt the official ‘Steve Jobs’ biography into a screenplay for their own.

From the press release uncovered by our friends over at Slashfilm:

Academy Award® winning screenwriter Aaron Sorkin will adapt Steve Jobs, a motion picture based on the best-selling biography of the legendary Apple co-founder by award-winning journalist Walter Isaacson, it was announced today by Amy Pascal, Co-Chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment, and Doug Belgrad, President of Columbia Pictures. The project is being produced by Mark Gordon, Scott Rudin and Guymon Casady.

For those of you not up on your film industry trivia, Aaron Sorkin also wrote the screenplay for The Social Network. He also spent time writing for The West Wing. We’re pretty pumped that Sorkin agreed to do the adaptation. The Social Network was fantastic, and there’s no doubt the Jobs bio will be fantastically written as well.
