CHARGE

Surely there have been times when you really needed some extra battery life on your phone. Be it a busy work day or a long-delayed flight, the stress we put on our phones can sometimes be more than their poor batteries can handle. That’s where the JuiceBar comes in.

While we all know and love the Mophie Juice Pack, there is plenty of room in the market for other external batteries. The JuiceBar seems like a pretty standard external USB-driven charging device, but it has a trick up its sleeve. Not only will is charge up and then disperse power over USB, but it also comes built-in with solar panels. That’s right, you can keep your back-up battery full just by exposing it to natural sunlight.

While the MSRP is $49.99 USD, ThinkGeek has it available for $39.99. It comes with adapters for Micro USB, Mini USB, Nintendo 3DS, and the Sony PSP, but of course your good ol’ iPhone charging cable will work just as well. It works off of a 2000mAh Li-ion battery, and the solar panel draws in 5.5 volt / 100mAh. Even if you only use the solar panel to keep it topped off, this is a great device to keep handy when you’re on the go.
