Samsung Looking To Steal A Piece Of Apple And Google’s Advertising Pie

Samsung recently announced the launch of AdHub, their own digital advertising model. AdHub promises to meet the needs of both advertisers and end-users by using advanced targeting solutions to deliver the right ad to the right person. Samsung also promises a holistic advertising experience, where ads are delivered seamlessly across the multiple devices that end-users might be using, from smartphones, to tablets, to Smart TVs. Samsung will be working with OpenX Technologies to deliver their advertising service.

Of course, the clear leader in online and mobile advertising is Google. Many of Samsung’s handsets run Google’s Android, so it’ll be interesting to see how this partnership fares in the face of this new area of competition.

Another of Samsung’s competitor’s will be Apple, who has offered its iAds platform since 2010. However, there are some indications that Apple has not been as successful as they would like on this front. Most recently, they upped the developers’ share of advertising revenue from 60 percent to 70 percent. Clearly online and mobile advertising is not easily conquered so it will be interesting to see how Samsung does with it.

Samsung is expected to launch AdHub later this year.
