iOS 5.1 getting closer, beta 3 released to developers

The third beta instalment of iOS 5.1 has been released to developers today. There’s not much news on what the new beta has addressed, but on the whole iOS 5.1 has been reported to give some extra features to Apple’s Photo Stream service, giving users the ability to manually manage the images included in the cloud service.

We’re sure we’ll hear more as developers hunker down and tear apart the beta software bit by bit. If, and when, that happens, we’ll be updating this post here with some more details.

Stay tuned.

Update: Apple has re-enabled the ability to turn off 3G data, thereby letting users opt to only use the EDGE network to conserve battery life.
