Cynics who claim you can’t even give RIM’s PlayBook tablet away might want to check their acerbic assumptions, because a shipment of PlayBooks heading from Plainfield, Indianapolis, to Ontario (presumably Waterloo) was jacked and at least $1.7M worth of merchandise (and maybe as much as $5M) was stolen. The truck was taken during a stop in Madison county and, of course, no tracking system was installed, thus making it pretty darn hard to locate. If you’d like to make any jokes about a truck full of GPS devices being impossible to find, now would be the time.

nano header Apple replacing some 1st gen iPod nanos with a new 6th gen iPod nano I was reading through my RSS feeds today and saw an AppleInsider article that said some people who had submitted their first generation iPod nano to Apple for their Replacement Program were receiving 6th generation iPod nanos. I submitted mine to Apple in early November and hadn’t thought much about it. Just looked at my shipping confirmation email from them a few days ago and it contains the serial number for my replacement unit. Looked up the serial number and YESSSSS, mama is getting a new iPod Nano!

If you have a first generation iPod nano it’s probably worth a look to see if it qualifies for the Replacement Program. If you did submit your nano, did you get your replacement yet? Was it the current generation iPod nano or a first generation? Let us know in the comments!

Blockwick Blockwick’s anything but a square gaming experience

Blockwick is simple — that said, classing Blockwick as a simplistic title is dangerous. With a focus on ingenious yet logical puzzles with an unhealthy dose of addiction, it’s anything but simplistic. Deeply grounded in logic and progressive thinking, Blockwick keeps you engaged through every puzzle.

Mac App Store 610x326 Check App Store updates with just a URL

So this is how the story goes. Panic, the company behind Mac apps like Transmit and Coda, used to provide its followers with specially crafted URLs when alerting them of something new, like a software update. That way, the user can get the info with just one click.

When the Mac App Store was in beta, I was really hoping for something similar — a simple way to notify a user of an App Store update, with a link to take them to the update in one click. ~ Panic

Well, it seems that the relationship between AT&T and T-mobile was solely lust. According to The Wall Street Journal, AT&T gave up its attempt to pull off the $39 billion merger after being attacked by the government. Apparently, if two major carriers merge, it’s sort of a monopoly – who knew?

ipad Everyone says Apple will make a 7 inch tablet. Except Apple.

In the world of tech journalism, there are two kinds of articles you can always count on: The ones that say “Apple has to do something they aren’t already doing” and the ones that say they’re already planning to do it. A fine distinction, to be sure, but the wheels of the web are turning today, and it seems like Apple “will” make a 7-inch tablet next year.
