Apple lists top apps from 2011

Apple has released their iTunes Rewind 2011 listings on the iTunes store this afternoon. In addition to top music, movies, and TV shows, users can now check out what the most downloaded applications of the year are for iOS.

The US listing:

iPhone App of the Year

Winner: Instagram
Runners-Up: VidRhythm, Band of The Day

iPhone Game of the Year

Winner: Tiny Tower
Runners-Up: Tiny Wings, Touchgrind BMX

iPad App of the Year

Winner: Snapseed
Runners-Up: djay, Jamie’s Recipes

iPad Game of the Year

Winner: Dead Space
Runners-Up: Contre Jour HD, Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP

The listings seem to be influenced by your location to some degree. For instance, in the Canadian App Store, TSN: iPad Edition is listed where djay is in the US. You may want to check your local App Store listings to see what applications made the cuts in your country. Let us know if you find anything cool in the comments below.
