Apple’s former CEO, Steve Jobs, was known for his creativity but also for his secrecy. In fact, this became a common theme with the company as a whole. Followers would wait a whole year in anticipation for the next iteration of Macs and iOS devices while Apple wouldn’t even hint at what they were working on; however, in his biography that was released today, Steve might have finally left us with some clues.
It will have the simplest user interface you could imagine. I finally cracked it.
Those were the words mentioned to Walter Isaacson, Jobs’ authorized biographer. What do they mean? Well, first we must look at the context that led up to such a remark. Televisions. The full quote goes like this.
“I’d like to create an integrated television set,” Jobs told Walter Isaacson. “It would be seamlessly synced with all of your devices and with iCloud… It will have the simplest user interface you could imagine. I finally cracked it.”
A few sources are reporting that Apple is investing in manufacturing facilities and securing deals for LCD screens between 3.5- and 50-inches. Not to mention, they’re having prototype televisions built. But, don’t listen to these rumors and expect a television next week. Knowing Apple, we won’t see this device until it’s perfect.
Whether or not Steve’s quote means a device is fast-approaching or even imminent is irrelevant. The fact of the matter is that Apple may indeed be preparing to make a dent in yet another industry and the fact that Jobs was able to give us that hint is fine all by itself.

The current IPTV market sucks, same does the current PVR sector
I think only Apple could make this the next big thing.
Both UK and US cable/broadband sucks through I/O and the whole industry needs a massive wake-up call
The issue is providers and manufacture's, content providers or makers.
In the UK, BTVision, Sky, Virgin, Freesat to name a few might panic, same with US providers.
All I know is it needs a SteveUpgrade, whether it's a new device or a new box, personally I don't think Steve liked boxes, so I am going for Apple Approved™ TVs

LikeNot sure, don't know enough yet to make a call. I'd imagine it would be a reiteration of the Apple TV OS slammed into a Cinema Display in some regard.
