nova2 Gameloft Back to School sale nearly over

Gameloft (bless their hearts) have let it be known that their Back to School sale is almost done, so if you wanna get your hands on some great iOS games for $0.99, you had better act soon. There’s no word in the blog post about when the sale is over, but my guess is that you probably won’t see it around for too many more days. After all, they have to start their “Thanksgiving” sale pretty soon, don’t they?

trolling the court Apple is fighting for your privacy rights alongside Dropbox

Online privacy is obviously already a hot ticket item (did you watch any f8 yesterday?), but surprisingly there’s a lot of major tech players joining the fight to protect your “user privacy” in court and with Congress. According to the EFF, Apple is one of those companies not only joining the fight, but also doing a “stellar job” already. Also doing a stellar job according to the EFF is Amazon, Dropbox, Microsoft, and, wait for it, Google.

diablo 3 Diablo 3 wont arrive till 2012

Those of you who were hoping to play Diablo 3 this year will have to keep yourself busy with something else, as it looks like Blizzard won’t be making the magic happen till 2012. Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime wrote a bit about it on the Blizzard blog, saying ”While this news might not be a complete surprise, I know that many of you were hopeful that Diablo III would ship this year. We were too.” Though not officially announced for 2011, Blizzard did say they were aiming for a release late in the year (no doubt to take advantage of the Christmas buying season).

Meg Whitman HP signs up a new CEO

That extremely relaxed-looking woman in the photo is HP’s new CEO and president, Meg Whitman, who replaced Léo Apotheker today. In the words of Ray Lane (who jumped from non-executive chairman to executive chairman of the board of directors today), “We are fortunate to have someone of Meg Whitman’s caliber and experience step up to lead HP,” said Lane. “We are at a critical moment and we need renewed leadership to successfully implement our strategy and take advantage of the market opportunities ahead. Meg is a technology visionary with a proven track record of execution.”

macpro softwareupdate header Apple readying 10.7.2, releases new seeds to developers

It’s coming, and hopefully it fixes a lot of those nagging Lion bugs we’ve been hearing about these days. Apple has just released a new 10.7.2 beta seed to developers. The seed, listed as 11C62, weighs in at a hefty 790MB, which is a huge update when compared to the 79.29 MB worth of updates that shipped in 10.7.1.

Many suspect that the new 10.7.2 will not only bring with it the patches that Lion currently needs, but also tighter iCloud integration. We’re not installing beta software anymore, but from what we’ve heard, there are a lot of fixes being taken care of in 10.7.2.

Hopefully we see it sooner than iOS 5 / iPhone 5 announcement in the upcoming weeks.

If you’re looking for it, and have access to a developer account, you can download it from the developer portal.

taskflow Taskflow drops today as one of the seksiest GTD apps to date
IRC regular and app tracking extraordinaire PhOBi tipped us off to a new GTD app, and while it’ll take us a few to formulate a thorough review, the release of TaskFlow for iPhone and iPod touch has me pretty giddy already.

Visually, icetop developers have literally destroyed every GTD app I’ve ever seen, and thumbing through the features, it might not all be eye candy.
