macbook air 3 Rumor: 15 inch MacBook Pro could be getting the MacBook Air treatment

Way back when Apple first introduced the newly styled MacBook Air, Steve Jobs stood on stage and pretty much declared publicly that the entire MacBook lineup would eventually look like the MacBook Air, calling it the future of notebooks. Today, rumors have begun circulating that Apple is currently working on an “ultra-thin 15-inch Mac Notebook.” Apparently the device is currently in late testing phases at Apple, and could be released sometime in the near future.

City Edition: A weather screensaver that doesn’t suck

July 26, 2011

I know what you’re thinking: Screensavers suck pretty much unanimously. When it comes to my Mac I tend to only install things that have a purpose. Until now I’ve been running a stock screensaver, much like most of you, but then Roger Byrne sent me a pretty awesome website that lets you pick your city, and then downloads a screensaver with weather information. But here’s the catch: It doesn’t actually suck.

Seriously, a suck-free screensaver.

cydia iOS 4.3.5 can be jailbroken via redsn0wredsn0w, the popular iOS 4 jailbreaking app, can jailbreak iOS 4.3.5 without issue.

Version 0.9.8 of the utility can Jailbreak devices, since iOS 4.3.4 and 4.3.5 just patched security issues and made few — if any — underlying changes, but does not support the iPad 2.

Final Cut Pro X: Our two editors spill the beans

final cut pro x Final Cut Pro X: Our two editors spill the beansWe have some great talent writing on the website these days. We like to find writers with niche interests  so they can  help round out our perspective on news and the happenings around the tech world. It’s long been a goal to find someone who edits video on a professional level, so we can provide our readers with legitimate insights into the Final Cut and iMovie world. As it turns out, we have two. Both Eugene and Paul have quite an intimate knowledge of Final Cut, so we thought it would be interesting to hear their thoughts on the new video editing offering, in parallel.

Here are two articles, wrapped into one. First you’ll hear from Eugene, followed by Paul. It’s pretty interesting to see that they both have very similar concerns and thoughts, but that they both decided to deal with it in very different ways.

OB OW314 0725ny G 20110725130301 Artist renderings of Grand Central Terminal Apple Store appear onlineIf you think your local Apple store is snazzy, can you imagine how snazzy a store at the Grand Central Terminal in New York City will look?

Artist renderings of the store have appeared online, courtesy of the Wall Street Journal, and we have to say, the store looks absolutely fantastic. Heck, it even looks fantastic with the hipster-esque photo processing that seems to have taken place during post-processing.

Some more information has also rolled in about the Grand Central Terminal deal. According to the Wall St. Journal, Apple has paid Charlie Palmer’s Metrazur restaurant $5 million to vacate its location eight years before their lease expires. The MTA will see their annual rent income go from the $263,997 paid by Metrazur to a giant $1.1 million from Apple.  Looks like it’s win-win-win for all the parties involved.
