Xbox 360 games could soon be ported to iOS and the Mac with ExEn
June 24, 2011
If you’re hoping to see more Xbox 360 titles make their way to the Mac, or even iOS, you might want to check out a nifty little project called ExEn. The goal of the project is to let a developer write their game once, and then port it to iOS, OS X, Silverlight, and eventually Android.
Microsoft’s XNA library currently only supports porting for Windows, Xbox 360, and Windows Phone, so this is where ExEn is hoping to push the envelope a little bit and get the games ported to more devices. Simply put, you can take your XNA game, and then use ExEn to move to Apple’s App Stores.
The library preview is now available for free over on lead developer Andre Russell’s website. The project is currently community funded, so it may make sense to drop the developer a couple of dollars if you’re planning on using or supporting the project in the future.

Skype releases teaser video for native iPad app accidentally
June 24, 2011
Skype may have let their itchy fingers get them into a little bit of trouble today on YouTube. The company seems to have pulled the trigger on a preview video of an iPad edition of the popular application.
Skype seems to have taken down the video, but RazorianFly managed to get the video back up on YouTube courtesy of a reader’s quick thinking and grabbing a screen-recording of the video. Looks like it may only be a matter of time until we see it in the App Store.

New iPod touch coming this fall?
June 24, 2011
Every time Apple releases a new operating system (or for that matter, just a new version of an operating system) hardcore geeks among us start reading through all the system files, trying to find any hints at possible new products that haven’t been announced by Apple yet.
The same happened when Apple released the first beta of iOS 5 a few weeks ago. Found were some references to the next generation of iPhones and iPads, but nothing about a new iPod touch. This led many (including ourselves) to the assumption that there won’t be a new model of the iPod touch this year.
That is, until today, when a member of the iFans forum posted a screenshot showing the string “iPod 4,2.”
