September can’t come soon enough if you’re waiting for a new iPhone, but some new nuggets uncovered by Bloomberg may just have enough to keep you strongly committed to your hold out.

Bloomberg, speaking with two people in the know (because two is always better than one, always), has uncovered that the new iPhone will not only boast a new A5 processor, an upgrade over the current A4, but also an 8-megapixel camera. The new phone is slated to both be a little snappier under the hood, and a little snappier in the camera department.

Apple releases iTunes Festival London 2011 app that lets you watch the live gigs from your device and on your TV screen

As in the past few years, Apple will hold the iTunes Festival London this year as well. A bunch of popular bands play every night throughout July in London’s The Roundhouse in Camden Town. Tickets are, as every year, free and can be won on the event’s website.

So everything is the same, basically. Except that this year Apple released an official app that lets you watch the gigs live and on demand from everywhere around the world. The app is universal, free to download and can even stream the videos onto your big TV screen using AirPlay.

Google now reaches 1 billion people monthly

Google has reached the 1 billion unique visitors a month, according to ComScore.

The search engine giant’s traffic rose 8.4 percent in May 2011, over May 2010. Microsoft’s sites clocked in at 905 million unique visitors, with Facebook seeing 714 million.

Just in case you were worried Google wasn’t taking over the world, this should put your mind at ease.

Final Cut Express discontinued forevah evah

Yesterday Apple released Final Cut Pro X to the masses on the Mac App Store to much fanfare, but by day’s end there were more questions about the software than there were answers. Today we got a couple more nuggets to help clear up some questions, most notably, what’s happening with Final Cut Express, and will there be an upgrade option for previous Final Cut Pro owners?

Both Engadget and AppleInsider are reporting that Apple has discontinued both Final Cut Express and Final Cut Server. Both software packages will not be available as boxed solutions nor on the Mac App Store. Moving forward your only video-editing option from Apple is Final Cut Pro X.

Apple opens new store in Texas, just two miles away from Mexico

Apple’s stores keep popping up around the globe at a pace that can make you wonder when they will outdo Starbucks as the mayor of every neighborhood. The newest plans are for a store in El Paso, Texas, just two miles away from the Mexican border.

At the ground floor of the Cielo Vista Mall, the new store will not only be filling in a seven-state lack of Apple Stores that’s currently only being served by the ABQ Uptown, NM store, but also attract citizens from the Mexican city Ciudad Juarez that’s just two miles away.

Mozilla has released Firefox 5.0 today, holding to its promise of more rapid releases for the popular browser.

The new version includes “more than 1,000 improvements and performance enhancements.” The core of this update includes massive improvements to the browser’s HTML 5 support.
