Photo taking in iOS 5: much easier

The Camera app in iOS 5 is set to receive numerous updates that will take the bite out of some of the pain of using an iPhone as a day-to-day camera, including launching the camera from the lock screen, even if there is a passcode set. Other new features include pinch-to-zoom and editing tools, including red-eye correction and cropping

My favorite feature is that now volume buttons can be used to take photos. Tapping the screen has always been frustrating for me, especially outside in direct sunlight. Having physical controls is  a major plus.

Trust me, physical buttons on a cell phone to take pictures is a pain the ARSE. One of the many reasons why I hated the Samsung Focus. Taking two hands off the phone to press the shutter release button makes the phone less stable and you get blurry pictures.
