A new lawsuit against Apple has surfaced after an incident at the Upper West Side Apple Store. The incident involved Brian Johnston, 34, and Nile Charles, 25, who claim they were racially discriminated against on December 9th of last year.
The plaintiffs claim that a mid-50s white employee approached the two younger black men, telling them they had to see a Mac specialist or leave the store, as they were not welcome due to their race.

Phillip Lam, the guy behind whiteiphone4now.com, is being sued by Apple in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
Lam’s site sold white iPhone front and back panels before the official model was released by the company. Lam reportedly made $130,000.

Whoops, Microsoft is at it again. Representatives were forced to quickly backpedal on CEO Steve Ballmer’s proclamation that the next version of Windows would be out in 2012.
Soon after he’d publically announced the news, executives were retracting his words. Adamant that they’d been blown out of proportion and were “misstatements,” they reaffirmed that there weren’t any confirmed launch plans for Windows 8.
Rumor: Apple wants AMOLED for iPad 3

People thought the iPad 2, iPad, and iPhone 3GS would be getting an AMOLED display leading up to their announcements, but it never materialized. It just kept not happening, over and over again. But, the dream isn’t dead just yet. The Korean Herald is reporting that Tim Cook has been discussing the possibilities with Samsung for the iPad 3.
The key quote from The Korean Herald article mentions that Apple is looking to implement the AMOLED technology into an upgraded version of the iPad 2. If you recall, Mr. John Gruber set the Internet ablaze a couple months back by suggesting, in passing, that Apple could release two iPad models this year.
iOS developers pool resources to fend off Lodsys in court, if it comes to that

Are you a small developer who’s received a threatening letter from Lodsys over its alleged patent on in-app purchases? Wondering if you’ll have to go to court, and how you’re going to pay for all that? Two such developers, Villian and Iconfactory, have decided to pool their resources and seek counsel in the eventuality that they may have to fight Lodsys in court.
Apple, for its part, has spoken out against Lodsys, and contacted developers to reassure them that Apple is looking into it. But they stopped short of saying that they would cover any legal costs incurred, should Lodsys decide to sue these independent developers.
