Some Oprah fans reaching Opera support instead

May 26, 2011

Misc. News

Most of the time, typos in email addresses end up in bounced messages. But other times, you email a Norwegian software development company instead of the star you thought you were writing.

With Oprah Winfrey’s last show airing this week, millions of fans have been emailing the star well-wishes and more. However, those quick to press Send without a proofread have been emailing Opera, the group behind the well-known family of web browsers and other products.

Oprah’s email — oprah@oprah.com — is easily mistyped as opera@opera.com.

The company has posted some examples of emails it has received, and — quite humorously — has even published a support document concerning the issue. I love when tech companies have a sense of humor.
