Verizon repeats claim of future world-mode iPhone

Verizon has once again made a comment indicating that the next iPhone on its network will be a world-mode device, capable of using GSM networks abroad. The phone is expected to debut on Verizon the same time the GSM model of the phone debuts on AT&T here in the US, and other carriers worldwide.

According to Reuters, the phone carrier is expecting the next iPhone to lack LTE, however. Chief Financial Officer Fran Shammo said that Verizon is fine with that, as the carrier has numerous Android LTE devices for people who need raw speed.

Verizon is also looking at getting rid of flat-rate, unlimited data smartphone plans this summer. The company has been rumored to be looking at implementing tiered data pricing for some time.
