Parallels launches Server for Mac 4.0 Mac mini edition

The fine folks over at Parallels have finally offered up a brand new Parallels Server edition that fully supports the Mac mini. The software has been optimized to take advantage of the Mac mini’s hardware configuration.

The application has been targeted at small businesses who need to run OS X, Windows, and Linux applications side-by-side on a daily basis. It’s also expected that Server for Mac 4.0 could help lower IT costs, as small businesses can now manage three operating systems all from within the Mac mini.

Kim Johnston, Vice President of Marketing at Parallels had this to say:

Smart organisations can get even better performance and savings from their Mac mini server by using Parallels Server for Mac 4.0 Mac mini Edition to run multiple operating systems and applications on the same box.

According to the Parallels team, Parallels Server 4.0 Mac mini Edition is now the only server virtualization package that is optimized to run on Apple hardware, and more specifically the Mac mini.

If you’re looking into getting your small business up and running, you may want to take a moment to consider using a Mac mini for your server needs. The small machine has a wallop of a punch when push comes to shove.
