Boomshakalaka goes the dynamite. Easily one of the best NBA games of all time, NBA Jam is now available on the App Store. The game consists of a classic campaign mode that lets you unlock the original legends, as well as a local multiplayer alternative. You can now play NBA Jam locally across Wi-Fi or Bluetooth with another iPad player.
Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, Karl Malone, and Detlef Schrmpf all make appearances this time around.
This game has immediately taken me back to my childhood. The game comes in at $9.99 and is not a universal app. If you want to play it on the iPhone, you’ll have to buy the game separately.
Guess what I’m going to be playing the in studio while we get setup for a new video podcast?

A lot of people were waiting on buying Final Fantasy III when it was released for the iPhone. Most of those waiting thought it would be a better experience on the iPad. I was personally one of those people, and as of today, we can now download FFIII for the iPad. Square Enix has released the game to the masses, but the price might take you by surprise a little bit. The iPad edition of Final Fantasy III is available for $16.99 on the App Store.

Apparently Verizon doesn’t have the same wherewithal as Apple when being lobbed questions by financial analysts during financial calls. During Verizon’s latest quarterly results call, the company let it slip that the iPhone 5 will be a global device, capable of using both CDMA and GSM networks.

Apparently there’s a real market out there for Apple branded products that aren’t made by the Cupertino company. Yesterday we heard about a fancy little USB hub that came complete with a glowing Apple logo. Today, we’re hearing that Apple’s lawyers have stepped in and moved to block sales of the iHub USB device.

When Apple announced that the iPhone 4 would be heading to Verizon, many wondered whether sales would be strong, or if everyone that wanted an iPhone 4 already had one with AT&T. Well, as it turns out, there is still plenty more gravy left in the iPhone 4 gravy train. Proving that the market is not quite saturated yet, Verizon announced that it activated 2.2 million iPhone 4s in the first quarter, making it the most successful launch in the company’s history.
Rival AT&T reported on Wednesday that in the same quarter it had activated 3.6 million iPhones. Verizon, however, did not have the iPhone 4 available for a full quarter, as it released the CDMA version of the iPhone on February 10th. Results for the next quarter will give us a more fair comparison.

You’re home. Or you’re at the office. You’re listening to an awesome song on your Mac, and then you realize you have to go. But you’re right in the middle of the track, and you want to keep listening on your iPhone while you travel. Well, up till now you’d have to stop the computer, find the track on your iPhone, and start it over from the beginning. Totally interrupting your flow. But with the new seamless app from Five Details (formerly Extendmac, makers of Flow, somewhat ironically) you can seamlessly transition a song from your Mac to your iPhone with one tap.

This isn’t a new thought, but I really feel like this needs to be discussed. Going from using my iPad to using my Mac makes me very impatient. Even in the best of circumstances, there are still countless apps that take forever to load. Opening, saving, and closing applications using Mac OS X 10.6 takes forever and a half. Yes, SSDs improve the launch speed. Yes, decking out your computer with an i7 and 16 GB of RAM will make things faster. If you throw enough firepower at about any app available, it’ll run smoothly. Maybe with the exception of Photoshop (Hey-oh!). That said, a $500 iPad will beat out a $1000 iMac in the perception of speed and responsiveness every time for me. [...]

If you thought you were free in today’s day and age, you’re going to have to think again. Not only are websites tracking your movements to hock wares in your direction, but your phone’s also keeping dibs on your movements. If you thought Minority Report was set in the future, think again.
Researchers have found an unencrypted file in iOS backups that contains information about your travels around the world. If you have an iPhone or iPad 3G, there’s a good chance that you can access your travel logs.
