
Bloomberg is reporting that Apple has been accused in a suit over the database file that tracks iPhone and iPad 3G users’ locations.
The suit was filed on April 22 in Tampa, FL, by Vikram Ajjampur, an iPhone user in Florida, and William Devito, a New York iPad customer.

The reason everyone’s up in arms about the iPhone’s location database, I think, isn’t that the data is particularly incriminating or embarrassing for most people. Rather, we’ve simply been reminded quite how much of our lives these convenient pocket computers are privy to.
People would be similarly freaked out, if not more so, if they saw how much Facebook and Google know about them. But there are two major differences.

So, there’s a lot of buzz about the iPhone constantly monitoring our location. How much data is being collected? Where’s it going? Should I put on my tinfoil hat now?
Short answer, no. Don’t freak out. There is an alarming amount of data about your movements being collected, but as far as I can tell, it’s not going anywhere, and it’s not terribly accurate either. If you’re still incredibly worried and super paranoid, then do what you should have been doing all along, and check the “Encrypt iPhone backups” box in iTunes, and all will be well with thee. But, if you’re curious for more specifics about the data, read on!

The iPhone 5 (or 4GS) is rumored to have a “world mode” chipset from Qualcomm. What that means is that a person can buy one iPhone and have it work on all kinds of networks at home and abroad.
That also means that the next generation iPhone may find itself on more networks in the near future. Boy Genius Report managed to get its hands on what looks like a white iPhone 4 running on the T-Mobile network.

With WWDC on the horizon, it’s to be expected that Apple is ramping up development on OS X Lion in an attempt to get ready for its release this summer.
Anyone who’s taken the betas for a spin in the last couple of months knows that the software still has quite a few bugs buried in the operating system. The bugs are not exactly surprising, considering Lion is still a developer preview. But, considering the new rumor on the street suggesting that Apple’s already taking steps to prepare the “Golden Master” version of Lion for distribution, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t surprised.
