Nikkan has published a report suggesting that Sharp has managed to procure a contract from Apple for the next generation iPhone displays. We’re not talking iPhone 5; instead, the report is suggesting that the display will find its way into the iPhone 6. Yup, you read that right. iPhone 6 rumors are here!
Apple Insider is reporting that the displays could be Sharp’s “next-gen” p-Si LCD line. The new displays are lighter and thinner, which would translate nicely into a new iPhone 6 design.

When Star Wars intersects with Apple in any way we know we have a winner on our hands. This time around it’s an iPhone case from Society 6 that casts Steve Jobs into carbonite, just like Han Solo in The Empire Strikes Back.
There isn’t much to say about this case that can’t be said with the picture above. Well, maybe one thing can be said. We hope Society 6 has good lawyers. It’s only a matter of time until Apple releases the Hounds of Cupertino on Society 6.

Results from the latest Appcelerator/IDC mobile survey show that developers are growing increasingly annoyed with device fragmentation and multiple application stores.

If you’re holding on to your older Apple machines out of necessity or nostalgia, it’s probably going to pain you to know that Apple’s dropping support for iTunes versions under 10.0.
While iTunes on whole still seems to work just fine, the iTunes store has ceased to operate. You are still be able to listen to your music and watch your videos, but you won’t be able to make purchases.
We’re not surprised that Apple’s discounting support for “legacy” software, but the fact that they’re now making it impossible to purchase music through the application is a little bit strange.
Why wouldn’t you take someone’s money if they’re offering it up?

Even before I knew Photosmith would allow me to sync my iPad photo catalogue to Lightroom, I wanted a very simple thing: the ability to rate my images from the iPad. I wanted to be able to review images with a client, without a laptop, without a paper proof sheet, and just have them look through their photoshoot saying “that one, that one and that one.” Photosmith, of course, allows us to do this, and so much more.

Today, Apple released a firmware update for 21.5-inch and 27-inch Mid 2010 iMacs.
According to the company’s support site, the update:
fixes a hard drive issue that may prevent some iMac (21.5-inch and 27-inch, Mid 2010) systems from booting properly.
Weighing in at just 767 KB, this should a be a quick one to run. It requires OS X 10.6.7 to be installed on the system.
