The unicorn is real! And Japan gets the love from Apple. In two separate press releases this morning Apple announced the availability of the white iPhone 4 in select countries worldwide, and the roll out of the iPad 2 in Japan and 11 other countries, beginning on Thursday, April 28th.

The iPad 2 expanded roll-out is staggered, with Japan getting the device on Thursday, a day ahead of the other 11 countries on the list.

The article comes after a wave of criticism and questions about such data, including allegations that Apple is tracking the location of its users.

Apple very firmly denies this, saying:

Apple is not tracking the location of your iPhone. Apple has never done so and has no plans to ever do so.

white iphone hero 20110425 Apples long awaited white iPhone 4 available tomorrow, April 28Today, Apple announced that the white version of the iPhone 4 will be available to customers tomorrow, April 28.

Coming to Verizon and AT&T in the US, the white version of the company’s iconic smartphone packs the same features as the black version. Both are available for $199 or $299, for 16GB or 32GB of storage, respectively.

From Apple’s press release:

“The white iPhone 4 has finally arrived and it’s beautiful,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. “We appreciate everyone who has waited patiently while we’ve worked to get every detail right.”

Sony is getting into the tablet market with the unveiling of the S1 and S2 Android-based tablets. More specifically, the tablets run Honeycomb, Android 3.0 which is optimized for tablet devices. The two tablets will be the first devices released by Sony to somewhat compete with the iPad.

This is a seriously amazing concept. Black Design Associates have announced the Leica i9 Concept Camera for Apple iPhone 4. Rather than do what we have already seen, by adding a little lens attachment to your device, the Leica i9 Concept Camera pretty has pretty much created a version of a Leica camera with a space to put your phone in it.

TweetDeck, the app rumored to be bought by Twitter, has undergone a major overhaul from the ground up. The app now features a new look, retina quality images, and support for all new iOS4 features.

It also introduces new features that make the app feel more alive and up to date with the current table of apps and not like that forgotten app that some people thought it had become.

itunes cloud service Apple expected to charge for iTunes Cloud serviceIt’s probably a forgone conclusion at this point, but Apple’s working on a cloud service. We don’t know the extent of it, but rumors have suggested that it will focus on music and media lockers that will let users stream their content from the web to their devices, both local and mobile.

Today CNET is reporting that an “industry insider” has spilled the beans—Apple plans on charging for their cloud offering. Shocking.
