Another major player in the news world has jumped on the bandwagon for a September release of the iPhone 5. According to a Reuters source, the iPhone 5 will begin production from July through to August, and then begin shipping in September.
Reuters passed the news on to the world through a tweet on their Twitter account (@reuters), without any further information about who the source could be or why we should believe them.

The inevitable release date of the iPhone 5 is still unknown to anyone that isn’t at the very top of Apple. We heard a rumor earlier in the month that the iPhone 5 will not be going into production until September, as well as a rumor that the device will be arriving just a month later, in October, and will be sporting a new camera and CPU.

YouTube enables WebM videos

Google has announced that YouTube users can now stream videos of cats, dudes getting hit in the nether-regions with footballs thrown by their kids, and Rebecca Black singing “Friday” in the WebM format.
The company says it has transcoded the videos that make up 99% of views on the site — nearly 30% of all videos on YouTube — into WebM. The less popular a video is, the further down the list to be transcoded it is.
Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP Micro for iPhone drops Thursday, iPad version goes universal

The iPhone (and iPod touch) version of Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP drops on Thursday, if the moon is in the right phase and all. Described by Superbrothers’ Craig Adams as “the record you can hang out in.” The small version is dubbed S:S&S EP Micro.
Although the game was released on the iPad first, its creators first envisioned Sword & Sworcery on a small platform, and made their key art and design decisions based upon the smaller form factor. “This is definitely ‘the way it was meant to be’ – it’s an entire little world you can slip into your pocket at any time,” says the team in their press release.

Gaming technology for profit isn’t exactly new in today’s world. Where there’s profit to be made, there are gamers trying to play the system. Apple knows it, and they’ve been taking active measures against it on the App Store.
Effective immediately, Apple will be banning developer accounts that incentivize the downloading of other apps in the App Store. For instance, offering in game currency for downloading apps, paying for reviews, or publishing fake reviews are all offences worthy of the Banhammer.
